Richard Uzelac’s Simple Health Tips that Work
finallystanding September 23, 2019Richard Uzelac’s Simple Health Tips that Work: Part One
“I believe if you follow this regime, you will be in the best shape of your life,” Said Richard Uzelac
1. Get Enough Sleep:
Typical active humans need at least 7 to 10 hours of sleep to fully rejuvenate the body, mind and soul. Skimp here and all else is wasted. (Actually, skip almost anything I put here, and your results will plummet in effectiveness.)
2. Drink 16 oz. of water upon wakening.
You are over 90% H2O. All night you are evaporating like a sponge, put it back right away, or you are behind the eight ball from the get go. Your brain is dehydrated; you’ll get headaches or lower thinking capacity. If you don’t drink your 16 oz., your body’s functions won’t function as they should. Toxins will not be processed out to the body as fast, great way to start your day, huh Sparky?
3. Get Down on Your Knees and Give Thanks to Who or Whatever You Want:
Did you know humans can only process one thought at a time? Fast or slow, disjointed or not, one thought. So for a moment, control that process, get down and give praise for all the stuff you have or were graced to you. Examples: Friends, Family, Kids, Health, Wealth, Air, Peace, the fact that you are alive, anything, say thank you you selfish little sh*t. Also, ask for forgivness for all the bad stuff you did. Own it, apologize and ask for forgiveness from God, who you wronged, and guess who else? YOU! Forgive yourself, nobody’s perfect and caring guilt and regret your whole life is unhealthy. Let go and let God and forgive yourself.
4. Get on YOUR own side:
Ok, this one makes me laugh at myself and feel a bit foolish, but if you say at least one good thing about yourself every morning, science shows that it counter-balances hundreds of negative thoughts we tend to lay on ourselves every day. So say or think something good about yourself! As Dr. Jordan Peterson says, “Treat yourself as if you were someone you were responsible for helping.” Love that guy! 5. Eat Breakfast:
I like a high protein shake with fresh fruit, non-fat organic milk and flax oil. I weigh 190 lbs. so I try to eat at least 100 grams of quality protein per day(one-half gram per pound, as I train very hard), my shake has 50 grams, I drink about 60% in the morning and 40% between lunch and dinner. That leaves a need for 50 more grams during the day. I make that up in my three other meals.
6. Eat every 3 or 4 hours.
I eat about five times per day: 6am, 9am, 12 am, 3pm, 6pm, sometimes a late snack at 8pm. I eat smaller meals and I eat about 50% protein, 40% clean carbs and 10% fat.
I also cheat on my meals at least twice a week. It keeps things interesting.
7. Eat Clean Highly Nutritious Foods:
I usually eat a piece of fish or turkey, 5-7 oz. and some steamed veggies, or a salad, that’s it.
Good Proteins: ….
Fish: Deep water wild fish like Halibut, Mahi Mahi, and Ono are great. Tuna and Salmon (the bright pink/orange salmon is dyed to look that way and isn’t as good for you.) Stay away from all shellfish, it’s filthy with man-made toxins.
Poultry: Organic Turkey…., Chicken and Ostrich are all good.
Red Meat: Once a week probably won’t kill you, a lean steak is best.
Other Sources of Protein: Tofu, Whey, Egg Whites, Hemp Seed, and Legumes.
Good Carbs: Raw or Steamed Veggies and Fruits.
Stay AWAY from pastas and breads and white rice, they are all just disguised bowls of sugar….. Same can be said about any processed food actually. Eat food as close to natural as you can.
8. Supplements:
Take a couple multi-vitamins each day and a multi-mineral supplement. If you have specific needs, consider studying them and taking supplements that have shown to help fulfill those needs. Have an enlightened doctor help you before altering your diet drastically.
